Rock 'N' Roll

It’s a rainy day and you can’t go outside. You are stuck at home for who knows how long. The sense of boredom is just starting to set in… I listen to music to avoid the seasonal sense of boredom. Honestly the sound of the pitter patter made by rain drops hitting my living room windows and the silence heard abundantly just gets to me. Music is just the best remedy. It can brighten your mood, spark some creativity, or just souse your inner thoughts. I tend to listen to get rid of the boredom while lazing around at home, cleaning, or searching the web, hey it works. Other than just listening to music you can jump on YouTube real quick and search for music videos to watch... It also serves as a source for inspiration for me, I like inspirational kinds of music and listen to songs that often times drive me to want to do better at something or make me want to try harder at things, like being a better person and what not.

Listen to music. If you’re a music lover, it can lift up your spirits like nothing else can. Just make sure you don’t play sad songs, for now.  Unless you’re into that.

New Languagae.. Why Not

Learn a new language, it can actually be fun. All you have to do is learn a few words every day and you’re good. Learning a new language might not be easy at times, but remember that you can always get something out of it. Many people learn languages for many different reasons like I learned French because I did not want to take another Spanish class in middle school plus I got to experience something new and out of my culture. It is really amazing being able to discover the wonders other cultures have to offer you like music, literature, art and much more. Plus you gain knowledge, knowledge is important, and knowing a new language can open doors for new relationships, jobs, and or media you would like to read or watch about like I watch Korean dramas from time to time and may I say their plots are far more interesting than the Spanish novellas they give now a days (they always have the same plot)…

None the less start learning when you have free time or you’re bored, once you have your numbers and alphabet down packed you’ll be hooked.

Jusqu'à la prochaine fois.

Checkmate

Chess. What is chess? Chess is “a board game of strategic skill for two players, played on a checkered board. Each player begins the game with sixteen pieces that are moved and used to capture opposing pieces according to precise rules. The object is to put the opponent's king under a direct attack from which escape is impossible ( checkmate)”, definition from online source.

Chess can be either a you love it or you hate it kind of thing. I personally enjoy playing chess because I started playing at a very young age with my family. And that lead me to join the chess club in grade school… good times. But none the less whether you grew up with it or without give it a shot it can actually be enjoyable and mind boggling and you can actually always find ways to better yourself at it. Having friendly competitions with friends are always a treat, so give it a shot. Just because it’s a board game don’t consider it boring.

(It’s so exhilarating getting your pawns in the enemy’s territory.)

Newspaper

There is a large portion of the world population who reads the newspaper. People read the newspaper for various reasons like at school we need to do, from time to time, current event research assignments on subjects we find interesting that have occurred. Some just like to read for information and interpretations on public affairs, which can be either quite interesting or not as much. It also provides a framework for daily living, for those who are interested by showing you lists of events and advertisements published on a daily basis. But there is nothing better than just getting a sense of relaxation or entertainment of the daily newspaper.

Reading a newspaper is a good way to pass the time while also increasing your awareness on what is occurring around your surroundings. Oh and you could always flip to your favorite section, sports, comic, and crossword puzzle.

Got...Music?

Music is everywhere, Music is universal, Music has no boundaries.
With that said... ahem we all have our preferred taste in music, whether it be country, rap, pop, etc. People tend to stick to the music type they grew up around with, or the type of music that is in at the time (like when all of a sudden DubStep got really popular and everyone was jamming out to it). No matter what type of music you fancy more I would suggest using your free time to search up different genres of music that you are not well acquainted with. You will be surprised with the nice, catchy, fresh songs you can find and add to your play list. Try to be open minded with music and just give it a try. Oh and don't forget music is made in different languages.

CREATIVITY TO THE MAX

It's funny how having art class in grade school comes in handy as you get older. All those times the teacher would say "don't color outside the lines" or "hold your drawing utensil like this" sure has its perks. By now we should have some decent skills in drawing since drawing is done quite frequently when our attention span has run low. And we just can't concentrate when we didn't sleep enough last night, a couple lights are off in the classroom, and you just don't get that random math lesson the teacher is going over.
So back to drawing... What I really love about drawing is that you are in control of the image you want to produce, or the colors you want to use. You can let your creativity just pour out of you and construct your own master piece. Plus there are a lot of different things to draw or materials you can use.
Over the summer I picked up Graffiti art and decided to actually learn how to make some nice graffiti word art. I would zone out for hours just moving an array of sharpie markers across my sketchpad. Best thing to do when your bored without a doubt, and you don't even have to be good at it!
